Mike was born in Australia but grew up in Zimbabwe. He moved to the UK in 1994 where he began his career working at a vet practice in Shropshire before joining one of the major animal health companies as a cattle veterinary adviser. In 2005, he returned to private work and set up several veterinary practices in Rutland. Mike specialises in dairying and holds the RCVS Certificate in Cattle Health and Production. He is experienced in all areas of veterinary medicine for both companion and farm animals and has worked as a specialist vet at Cambridge University.
Mike also holds a helicopter pilot’s licence (and has his own helicopter) which is very useful for making client visits and emergency call-outs. He is now splitting his time between the UK and Zimbabwe where he lives in Victoria Falls and works as a volunteer vet with the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust where he assists with their work on elephant, rhino, lion and desnaring buffalo, giraffe and warthogs.
